Mining Guide for Beginners part 2

 Hi there again :)
I am trying to continue this guide as soon as I find time to write...
Now lets continue ...:))

12. Try exploration. If you have exploration skills, try exploring around. Scan around for gravimetric signatures as they have less common ore types like Omber, etc. You can fly a Heron (Caldari) or Magnate (Amarr) or another exploration ship. They are nearly the same. I prefer Magnate myself 'cause my main toon is Amarrian.

13. Equip at least two mining lasers (or strip miners) and extract different types of ore at the same time; for example while  one of your mining laser extracts veldspar, the other one may extract scordite, the third one (if there is) may extract dense veldspar. I will talk more about mining lasers later..

14. You may have of course a particular type of ore to extract so choose your mining site accordingly. Don't go low-sec for veldspar ( for tritanium)..!!

15. Learn industrial ship skills too. You will need them soon for carrying your ore from station to another one.

16. Raise your ore processing skills as soon as possible.

17. You can sell your extracted ore in market, or with contract. Watch for a reasonable price. You can go for an immeadiate sell in the market at first but I suggest a long term market sell as your extracted amount of ore increases. I will not talk much about pricing and market strategies here, 'cause I'm not an economy professor :))   But I think you will have a market sense in time.

18. Another way to use your ore is manufacturing and production. It is kinda profitable too. But you have to choose your blueprints wisely. It is a little bit time consuming but yes it is profitable.

19. Always have your favourite drink with you    :))

20. Start with higher ore load asteroids; for example start with dense veldspar instead of veldspar; or first go for condensed scordite instead of scordite.

21. If you are a solo miner, don't try to wipe a whole asteroid belt out. Well it is kinda boring :))   Take less common ores and leave the veldspar to others...

22. But if you are in a mining group or corp , then clean the area and leave nothing mate :))

 23. I don't do jet-can mining any more. Buy a Retriever instead. It has 22000m3 ore hold capacity. Raise your Mining Barge skill and you will get an ore hold capacity as high as a jettisoned container.

Mining Guide for Beginners part 1

Hi-Sec Mining Guide in EVE Universe

Hey fellow Miners !!!..Welcome ...:)
This is a beginners' guide who wants to carry on with mining in EVE.
You can make lots of ISK with mining while sitting in a mining barge or frigate.
Lets go...
  1. Set your overview tabs: Right click on "Default" tab on your overview window and select add tab. Then right click on the new tab, hover on "Load Overview Profile" and select "Mining" here...You can add more tabs like this here..as many as you want ...I personally added Loot and Drones tabs too.
  2. Use a Survey scanner. Train the skill as quickly as possible if you don't have it (Electronics lvl 1).
  3. Carry mining drones and scout drones on board. Group them in your "Drones Overview" (not in the tab) as mining and combat drones.
  4. Always watch your overview. If an NPC pirate pops up just right click the mining group and order them to return to the drone bay and launch the combat group.
  5. Get close to the asteroid you are mining..like 3000-4000 km. Give it to your mining drones. Then select and lock the further asteroids for mining lasers.
  6. Get a mining barge as soon as possible.
  7. Venture is a good ship for beginner miners. I will talk about ships more later..
  8. Don't trash excess minerals after refining. Choose a home station for yourself and always bring your load there. The excess amount of minerals after refining them stack up in there so everytime you unload there, select "Stack all" on the context menu and stack the same kind of minerals and you will avoid wasting your hardly earned minerals.
  9. Get strip miners as soon as possible.
  10. First stick in 1.0 or 0.8 sectors. Then go to lower sectors but not lower then 0.6 if you are solo. Scout drones like Acolyte I or Hornet etc are enough to cover your back up to 0.6 security.
  11. Bookmark location of the asteroid you are close to and when you undock, select that location instead of the asteroid belt.
To be continued....
